Case Study: Partnership Assessment Tool for Vertical Integration with GP provider organisation

NHS Elect has developed a pro-forma designed to undertake a structured first assessment of partnership proposals for NHS organisations.

We developed this in order to assist Trusts when organisations first approached them for partnering opportunities, prior to formally entering the formal business planning processes and Foundation Trusts following the Risk Evaluation for Investment Decisions required by Monitor.

The Framework reviews business strategy, finance and operational and clinical delivery via a series of questions which need to be considered before recommending that a formal business case is developed for the proposed partnership.

We are happy to work with sites to tailor the approach to suit local circumstances. We can also plan and deliver a programme with managers within your organisation to inform them of the approach outlined in the tool, and how it will help develop with partnership proposals in conjunction with local business planning systems.
