Become a Member of NHS Elect

We are always happy to discuss membership with any organisation who feels that they could benefit from joining the NHS Elect network.

There is a quarterly membership fee that we use to fund the work we do with each site, agreeing a local plan that includes 'reinvestment' of this funding to deliver the priorities agreed by member sites.

If you are interested in joining or would like to find out more, please contact Caroline Dove. We invite those considering membership to send us an 'expression of interest' which should take the form of an email outlining your key reasons for wishing to join the NHS Elect network.

We will then follow this up with a visit to your site to discuss the detail of our programme and participation.

Benefits of NHS Elect membership

Case Studies

“Birmingham Women’s joined the NHS Elect network when we were moving towards foundation trust status. We wanted to improve our internal capacity and capability for marketing and Elect’s membership was a perfect way to do so. Since joining last year, a number of our staff have attended NHS Elect’s marketing workshops run in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Medical Marketing Group) and we are about to launch our new Trust website with the help of Elect. When you are working in a fast paced NHS organisation, it is always good to have someone knowledgeable on 18 weeks, marketing, commissioning and the independent sector partnerships on the line for advice and some hands-on help. Now that we are an FT, NHS Elect has responded to our changing needs by carrying out an organisational development audit so that we can look at our wider development needs. We’re moving on to address the results of the audit and make the most of the training and networking opportunities that Elect membership offers.”  Anne Gibbs, Director of Development and Marketing, Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust.

“Bedfordshire PCT joined NHS Elect to gain a better understanding of the emerging NHS and to develop our organisation accordingly. The team is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and a delight to work with. Our membership with NHS Elect has widened our national and international practical learning through seminars on 18 weeks and a study trip to the Netherlands. They also run a number of on-site workshops to ensure that we adopt a business-like approach to writing business cases and marketing plans. These have been popular and over 40 of our staff have attended each time. Right now, Elect is working on the creation of our strategic needs assessment and understanding our capacity and demand post December 2008 as a focussed piece of work. In short, NHS Elect has helped us to broaden and deepen our understanding of the evolving NHS as well as deal with current practical problems through training, advice and hands-on support.”  Robert Ferris, Chief Operating Officer, Bedfordshire PCT.
